2024 ANZCAR Thunder Series Race 12 Michigan
Dave Douglas Dominates Daytona Dodging Deciding Drama!
(pleased with that one)
Perennial superspeedway threat Dave Douglas won as a new ANZCAR era dawned, with the first implementation of stage racing in the main series. In a car and track combination that produced a race nobody wanted to lead back in February, this was the race everybody wanted to lead, and almost did!
The opening stage of 30 laps was non-stop jostling for position and would end in a mad dash to the line, finishing like so:
Ryan Jones
Dave Douglas
Riley Curtis
Shayne Bowen
Joshua Carroll-Walden
It was then a straight up, 50 lap run to the flag which would be interrupted by green flag pitstops. This would lead the pack to be split in two with the second pack lead by Urquijo and Carroll-Walden managing to catch the leaders on the final lap. In the run to the line all hell would break loose, with Douglas beating Norman Clark and Jones to the line, Fenly and Carroll-Walden completing the top five.

Some borderline gaps between some cars on the start/restart. Please tighten it up.
