2022 Round 12 Trucks Results
Truck Series Recap:
The Affinity Constructions Truck Series wrapped up Season 1 on Monday night @ Darlington Speedway where the Championship looked to come down to 4 drivers, Hamish Gallagher, Luke Trahair, Jaiden Russell and Danny G. Gallagher was able to respond to the situation with a Pole Position with Michael Scurlock not far behind in 2nd.
The drivers started the race out in an orderly fashion which set the tone for some great green flag racing throughout the night. Gallagher was able to lead the first portion of the race, keeping a clean race truck whilst most others accumulated their Darlington Stripes. The first caution of the night waved on lap 21 when Dave Douglas struck the wall hard in Turn 1.
The next run would last 50 laps which also saw a green flag pit stop, Gallagher continued to lead the way but would be contested by Luke Trahair who was able to challenge for the lead on the longer run.
The green flag pit stops did jumble up the running order and on lap 78 the races second yellow flag waved when Jason Martin and Ruben Phelps came together on the entry of Turn 1.
Jaiden Russell was now in the lead for the final restart of the night, Danny G lined up in 2nd, Gallagher in 3rd and Trahair in 4th as all 4 contenders occupied the top 4. Russell Slowly edged away lap by lap while Gallagher and Trahair battled hard, Trahair finally getting passed Gallagher and setting his sites on Danny G in 2nd.
