2022 Round 3 Las Vegas Thunder Recap
ANZCAR Thunder Report:
Round 3 of the ANZCAR Thunder series 2022 would see another full field line up for 150 Miles at @ Las Vegas.
Michael Scurlock and Luke Trahair would share the front row for the start of this race. Really close field through qualifying with .439 of a second covering the top 33 positions. Good hard racing throughout the field with battles for position everywhere. It was not an uncommon sight to see cars side by side 3 to 4 rows deep all battling to get past each other. A few cars getting contact with the wall early and a few spinning cars however they wouldn’t trigger a caution early on.
Lap 43 would see the races only caution and this would put drivers that were going with a 1 stop strategy right on the bubble of being able to make it home with a pit stop under caution.
From here it was a green flag run to the finish with drivers balancing fuel saving and tire saving to make it to the end of the race. Really tough battles going on with a few different leaders.
Jaiden Russell would clear the pack and run away enough to take the win while the battling for the remaining podium positions would see door to door racing. Well done to the full field as well. Full grid with close side by side racing and only 1 caution is a great achievement for the race.
Race Results:
1st: Jaiden Russell
2nd: Luke Trahair
3rd: Hamish Gallagher
4th: Dylan O’Shea
5th: Kye Turner
