2022 Round Thunder Results
Russell grabs his 2nd win of the season @ Atlanta.
Round 5 of the ANZCAR Thunder series 2022 would see the field line up for the Synergy Sim Racing 150 @ Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Another tight battle for qualifying throughout the field with Raymond Jaeger taking out the pole position and Jaiden Russell lining up beside him for the start of the race.
Russell would waste no time taking over the lead with a caution coming out on lap 6 resetting the field again for Jaeger to lead off again. Interesting restart here with a few cars spinning their tires but everyone doing a good job to hold on to it.
Scurlock would soon take over the lead around lap 18, Holding onto it through caution flags and race restarts and pit stops under cautions. He would end up leading the most laps of the race with 68 laps.
The bumpy nature of the track looks like it caught a few people out with the race seeing 7 cautions for 25 laps in total.
A few drivers trying to conserve tires till later in the race and a few using up their allotment early would see some restart mixing old vs fresh. Fresh tires would power away quickly from the older tire cars.
The 2nd to last race restart would see Jaiden Russell take over the lead straight after the restart and he would be able to hold off Scurlock and Andrew Dyson for the Green White Checker restart to take the win.
A Synergy Sim Racing team member winning the Synergy Sim Racing titled race.
Race Results:
1st: Jaiden Russell
2nd: Michael Scurlock
3rd: Andrew Dyson
4th: Hamish Gallagher
5th: Steven Williams
