2022 Round 7 Truck Results
Truck Series Recap:
Monday night saw the Affinity Constructions Truck Series head to Chicagoland Speedway for round 7 of the championship. A sold out field would enter the race taking up the 40 available grid positions with Hamish Gallagher once again showing his speed, taking out Pole Position over Jason Martin.
The 100 lap event went green flag the whole distance and played out in 3 sequences. Gallagher was able to lead the opening laps over Martin and Michael Scurlock, the middle portion of the race was then led by Martin who secured the lead by pitting a lap or two early before any of the other front runners took the opportunity to come down pit road, and the final portion of the race was led by eventual race winner Jaiden Russell who claimed the lead in the same fashion as Martin had earlier.
As the race wound down the top 5 began to bunch together as Russell led over Martin, Josh Michelmore, Daniel Grzeszkiewicz and Hamish Gallagher. There were also a couple of drivers that took the chance at making the distance on 1 stop but it did not work out as the top 5 drivers crossed the finish line within 1.2s of one another with Jaiden Russell claiming the victory over Martin in a quick paced race!

Next week the Truck Series heads to Martinsville (Full Schedule Race) for 125 laps! We'll also be dialling back the number of starting spots to 30 as with Bristol and the dirt races.
Truck Series has been really good this year, if it keeps up at the short tracks we'll open the 40 spots back up for a trial and see how we go.
