Race Results Autoclub S1 R2
Righto who was that was out in the carpark doing burnouts and creating smoke to cover the track?
Round 2 of the ANZCAR Thunder series 2022 would see another near full field line up for the Performance E Streaming 150 @ Autoclub.
Jaiden Russell and Andrew Dyson would share the front row for the start of this race on a track that looked like was smoked in from a bush fire.
A 11-lap run would start the race off before the 1st of the races 7 cautions would see most of the field head down pit lane for tires.
The tire limit of 3 sets of spare tires would end up making for a lot of different strategy’s through out the field.
Jaiden Russell would lead the most laps on the night but would suffer a cruel twist with a PC crash while battling for the lead. At times the action would be 4 wide through out the field and battle were being had all through the field.
This would turn out to be a race winning stop in the end as Dave was able to hold the lead for the rest of the race controlling the restarts well as from here it became a bit of a caution feast unfortunately as the aggression levels went right up.
Josh Michelmore would time his final stop perfectly to work his way up to the front and hold off teammate Hamish Gallagher and Michael Scurlock for the win.
