2022 S2 Round 12 Trucks Results
Truck Series Recap:
On Monday night the Affinity Constructions Truck Series concluded Season 2 with a 130 lap race around Lucas Oil Raceway. Only a small field showed up for the event which featured 15 drivers, but the short field didn’t stop the action out on track.
Jaiden Russell and Edward Foster would start the race in positions 1 – 2 with Russell leading the opening stages of the race. 2 quick cautions in the first 25 laps saw the field come to pit road except for J Russ who stayed out on older tires.
Russell managed to keep the lead for a short while after until Foster was able to make the pass for the lead, meanwhile back in the top 5 Danny G, Ruben Phelps, Hamish Gallagher and Jason Martin battled away.
The track proved quite hard to pass one especially as a run went on. Andrew Dyson collected the wall and would have to pit for repairs that helped him get back up to the front end of the field late in the race.
Foster looked poised to take home the win at the halfway mark until a fast charging Martin worked his way up to the front and appeared to have the pace to sneak in a win. It all went to the wayside later on a restart however, as Martin got loose off of Turn 2 he dropped back down the field. Yellow flags flew towards the end of the race which appeared to dampen Russell’s chances of getting back into the lead, but he managed to get the job done on the second last restart, pulling away from Foster for the victory!
As the final points were tallied up, the Championship would go to Edward Foster by 27 points!
