2023 Series 1 Round 11 Truck Results
Truck Series Recap:
On Monday Night the ANZCAR Truck Series took World Wide Technology Raceway on for the second last event of Season 1. 30 Trucks lined the starting grid for the 100 lap race with Ryan Jones taking Pole honours followed by Hamish Gallagher.
Jones took the opening 9 laps in the lead until Gallagher was able to get around while Josh Michelmore, Daniel Hetterscheid and Lachlan Urquijo settled in the top 5 slowly inching away from the rest of the pack.
The first caution of the night would fall on lap 31 bringing the file down pit road.
A series of yellow flags soon fell up to lap 50 until the field settled down to string another run together, this mixed the leaders up a little with strategy and Daniel Hetterscheid found himself in the lead with Gallagher falling back to 7th on the 65th lap restart. Gallagher would become a victim of a late incident on lap 87 and the race would go into over time with a green, white checker finish.
Ruben Phelps had driven his way into the lead to get the final run of the night under way and managed to hold off Ryan Jones who made a big move on the high side of turn 1 to take the lead, Hetterscheid crossed underneath to take 2nd spot as the race ended a lap early under yellow following an incident.
