2023 Series 2 Round 7 Truck Results
Truck Series Recap:
On Monday night the ANZCAR Truck Series ran @ The Milwaukee Mile to start the second half of the season and Ryan Jones was on the money in qualifying notching up Pole alongside Andrew Dyson.
21 entries would fill the field out, the biggest Milwaukee turn out yet which was good to see.
Dyson pulled away as the green flag dropped and three big title contenders in Jones and Josh Michelmore fell in line 2nd and 3rd as the race took on a green flag look which is very characteristic of Milwaukee. Michelmore had driven up into 2nd place and onto the back of Dyson within 10 laps and on lap 15 was able to take the lead, driving out ahead of the field until lap 62 of the 100 lap event when the races first caution flag waved for a single truck spin off of Turn 4.
Jones led the pack on the restart as Dyson and Michelmore fell in line, Ruben Phelps and Danny G filled out the top 5 and with only 30 laps to go racing became pretty intense at the back end of the top 10. Dyson made a move on the inside of Jones to claim the lead of the race again on lap 76 but caution number 2 would fall only a few laps later.
Dyson was able to jump out to a pretty decent gap on the lap 84 restart and that was effectively the end of the race with Dyson pushing out the lead to 1.6 seconds over the 16 lap run to win the race. Jones, Michelmore, Phelps and Danny G rounded out the top 5.
