Truck Series Recap:

On Monday night the ANZCAR Truck Series ran @ Talladega Superspeedway for round 8 of Season 2. 28 entries would field the grid for the 80 lap race, led by Jaie Schultz who nailed Pole and Ryan Jones backing up in 2nd place.

On the green flag Jones timed a really good start and with help from Koby Jordan and Christopher Tomlin in the outside line, was able to drive the three into the lead by Turn 3. Paul Drady ran the outside for the lead in the early going, swapping the lead with Jones.

The first and only caution of the night fell on lap 19 when a big wreck occurred in Turns 1 & 2 taking out a lot of contenders as the wreck happened at the front of the field.

The race would go green flag all the way home from lap 21 with Jones always at the front of the pack, whether racing or defending for the lead. A green flag pit stop split the majority of the pack up and at the end a 7 truck pack formed to contend for the win. Matty Raymond made a move to the outside in the closing laps getting a push from Danny G but wound up probably a lap too early in doing so and couldn't quite get the job done on Jones who was pushed along courageously by Dave Douglas who'd kept in the fight for the distance.

Coming to the line it was Ryan Jones taking the chequered flag with Douglas, Raymond in 3rd, and a mess across the line for the rest of the minor placings!
