2024 ANZCAR Bluegrass Street Stock Tour Round 2
The ANZCAR Bluegrass Streetstock Tour ventured to Lanier National Speedway on Wednesday night for Round 2 of its series. Duane Burns claimed back to back pole positions, ahead of Shayne Bowen, Nick Bottrill and Troy Davidson.
Whilst Burns got a good start, Bowen and Bottrill would race door to door for the opening laps for second place. Lap 3 would see a spin from Bottrill, that would drop him down the order along with Ashley Dodgson who also had a moment in turn 2. The track stayed green and drivers set about trying to look after the RR and to not overheat it. Whilst there were plenty of close battles, the majority of the field held their positions to the end, except for Hamish Gallagher who changed his way form the back of the pack to finish in sixth.

Starting places for the Feature Race were the inversion of the finishing places from the Sprint Race, with Nick Bottrill and Ashley Dodgson off the front row, with Tristan Koch and Justin Allan filling row 2.
Whilst the Sprint race had been calm and controlled, the feature race was a gloves off affair with 5 cautions within the first 20 laps. Once the carnage had been cleared and the red mist had subsided, Wayne van Biljon would lead the field to the green on lap 17 ahead of Shayne Bowen, Troy Davidson and Duane Burns.
Gallagher would quickly move himself up into second position by lap 26 as Davidson start to overheat his RR and drift back through the field. Meanwhile van Biljon was still out front and trying to pull a gap over the chasing pack.
15 to go and the top 4 of van Biljon, Burns, Gallagher and Bowen had the length of the straight margin over the rest of the field.
The caution flag would fly with 9 to go when van Biljon and Burns made contact in turn 4 battling for the lead. This would bunch the field up for a quick dash to the finish. Burns would be untroubled over the remaining laps, taking the flag four tenths ahead of Bowen/
