Gen6 Series Recap:

The final round of Season 2 ANZCAR Lightning Rounds kicked off tonight at Phoenix. Josh Michelmore would come into the race with the championship lead, 18 points ahead of Garry Wellman and 27 ahead of Norman Clark. Andrew Dyson etched out qualifying followed by Barry Neale, while Michelmore and Clark lined up 3rd and 7th. 

Several quick yellow flags started the race before things eventually got going. Michelmore was out in the lead followed by Wellman on lap 50. Wellman held onto Michelmore well up to lap 70 when Dyson moved up into 2nd place. Ryan Jones and Riley Curtis rounded out the top 5. Dyson would take the lead on lap 79. Green flag pit stops started to occur on lap 80 to 100 which handed out a selection of lead changes

After the pit stops cycles through completely it was Dyson back out in the lead of Michelmore and Jones on lap 30 as the race started to wind down. A yellow flag with 10 to go tightened things up to finish the race. Dyson would lead the field with 6 laps remaining. The final yellow fell on lap 148 and would activate the Green-White-Checker finish. A wreck on the GWC ended the race slightly early with Dyson the winner, Jones in 2nd, Michelmore 3rd, Wellman 4th and Neale 5th!
