2022 S2 Round 3 Trucks Results
Truck Series Recap:
The boys were back in Charlotte last night for the Affinity Constructions Truck Series race, 35 drivers would line up for the 100 lap event, led by Edward Foster through qualifying, Danny G alongside him leading the outside row.
Foster led the field to green in a tidy start to the race, Hamish Gallagher who had started in 3rd drove into the lead after a few laps before the first caution of the night fell on lap 11.
The field would hit pit road with Gallagher leading them back to green for the races next stint of 20 laps, Gallagher continued to pace the field with Danny G, Foster and Brad Allison, while some of the usual front runners had also started driving their way to the front like Luke Trahair, Jaiden Russell and Josh Michelmore.
A green flag pit stop cycle was halted by an untimely yellow flag in the late stages with much of the lead lap cars being trapped a lap down, they were able to take the wave-around however but many were then pinged for a black flag on the races 4th restart of the night when a lapped car struggled to find their position.
Foster now had the lead of the race but was quickly overtaken by Aiden Schultz and 9 laps later the races final caution flag fell with a mess off Turn 2.
Pit lane opened for the caution and a variety of strategies took place, some guys staying out, some guys taking 2 tires, others with 4. The final 8 laps took off with Schultz in the lead, but the guys on 4 tires were coming quickly and not long later Gallagher was able drive into the lead, taking the checkered in the dying stages.
