2022 S2 Round 9 Thunder Results
Round 9 Of the ANZCAR Thunder series would head to the oval track @ Indianapolis.
Andrew Dyson would lead off the grid after setting the pole position time of 52.843 with Hamish Gallagher 52.884 and Jason Martin starting 3rd with a 52.955.
The start of the race would see the field settle into single file racing with Dyson, Martin and Gallagher opening a little gap to 4th place. Martin would get a runoff turn 4 and use it to pass Dyson for the lead on lap 7.
The top 10 cars would be fairly settled with the a few changes for position occurring.
Drivers would be able to make the race on 1 pit stop so we would see green flag pit stops occurring around the 26 onwards lap mark. A caution on lap 50 would see just about all cars pit for 4 fresh tires and a splash of fuel if needed to get home.
Dyson would win the race off pit road and lead the field on the restart of the race.
From the restart Dyson and Martin would battle bumper to bumper for the lead. With 3 laps to go Martin would get a better run through turns 1 and 2 and carry the momentum down to turn 3 to complete the pass.
Ryan Jones and Gallagher would battle hard for the 4th position.
