2023 Series 2 Round 2 Truck Results
Truck Series Recap:
35 drivers turned up last night at Charlotte Speedway for Round 2 of Season 2 in ANZCAR’s Truck Series. Jaie Schultz would line up first on the grid after qualifying for the 100 lap race followed by Ryan Jones in 2nd.
The green flag flew and the race was underway with Jaie Schultz quick out of the box pulling into a sizeable lead. The rest of the field circled behind taking it a little easier on the tires as the wear was around 1% a lap or more. Setup was easy to post a fast time on, but became increasingly tighter as the laps went on and the rubber wore down. Ryan Jones and Edward Foster battled in the top 3 until the first and only caution of the night fell on lap 16.
This brought everybody down pit road for fuel and tires and Schultz once again pulled out into a lead on the restart. Andrew Dyson had now raced up into the top 5 and as the tire wear started to factor, Schultz started to drop out of the lead and started backing up down the order. Luke Trahair and Danny G filled out 4th and 5th spots and drivers started to think about an upcoming green flag pit stop. Pit lane became busy around lap 60 as drivers hit the lane to fuel up to the finish. Foster was one of the first leaders to hit pit lane on about lap 64 and Dyson and Jones would enjoy a battle to the end. Trahair still sat in 4th but a little too far back to engage in the action, Danny G a little farther back pulling Paul Drady with him in 6th.
Coming to the chequered flag, Edward Foster crossed the line for the win with Andrew Dyson finishing in 2nd. Ryan Jones 3rd, Luke Trahair 4th and Paul Drady in 5th spot.
