2023 Series 2 Round 6 Truck Results
Truck Series Recap:
Last night the ANZCAR Truck Series reached the halfway point of Season 2 with a 70 lap race around Indianapolis. A solid field of 29 entries made the start of the race with Hamish Gallagher claiming Pole and Dave Douglas notching up 2nd place during qualifying.
Hamish took the green flag while Douglas and Danny G fought over 2nd place through the first two turns until Douglas got by down the back, some close quarter racing in the back of the pack saw some 3 wide action and ultimately brought out the races first caution on lap 1.
The next run started out much the same except the field got through unscathed and the run would last 25 laps with various pit strategies going on, a caution on lap 29 jumbled the field up somewhat due to these strategies. Luckily for Gallagher who'd been in control of the race, the caution came out while he was making his green flag pit stop.
The race resumed and took on similar look to the previous run, it was broken up by a green flag pit stop and the field was able to make the 70 lap scheduled distance without further incident. Gallagher maintained control of the race fending off a huge effort by Douglas, Dyson eventually snuck through into second place but Gallagher was too good and came away with the checker flag.
