2023 Series 3 Round 5 Truck Results
Truck Series Recap:
On Monday night the ANZCAR Truck Series kicked off Round 4 of the season @ Eldora for the annual dirt bash.
13 drivers entered the race which forfeited a second heat so all drivers competed in Heat 1 which saw its fair share of action over 10 laps and Jason Martin taking the Heat win to start on Pole for the 100 lap feature alongside Andrew Dyson.
The Feature went green flag with Martin leading the field out front as the pack sorted themselves behind 3 wide, Andrew Dyson moved into the lead on lap 5 and a 3 way battle for the lead ensued on lap 10 when Josh Michelmore charged into 2nd then into the lead on lap 13. the first yellow of the night waved on lap 25 for a single car spin down the back stretch.
Michelmore led the field back to green and Dyson and Martin made a race out if completing the lap 3 wide pinning Martin on the inside and bringing Matty Raymond and Wellman on the outside, Wellman however was involved in an incident in Turn 3 a few laps later to bring out the second caution.
The 3rd caution fell coming off Turn 2 which sent martin to the back of grid. Michelmore found the backstretch wall on the next restart and Dyson retook the lead on lap 43 with Matty Raymond up into 2nd.
A few more quick cautions saw the race to the halfway mark. Dyson still held the lead at the 70 lap mark as a couple more cautions had fallen and racing ramped up between drivers but lap 74 was the final restart of the race and Dyson was able to comfortably race away to the win as the final 25 laps went by quickly without incident!
