2024 ANZCAR Crown Jewel Series Race 1 Daytona 500
Foster slingshots to final turn Daytona 500 win!
The 7th running of the ANZCAR Daytona 500 was a race with a little bit of everything, veterans and rookies, aggression and strategy, alliances and rivalries, all played out over 500 miles of bumper to bumper action. As the minds fatigued and the tension ramped up as the end approached of nearly three straight hours of racing, the gloves came off for an overtime finish.
In the end it would be Foster with a well-timed slingshot pass on Danson on the final stretch that would seal the win for the Natari 53. Danson would hold on for second while Raymond, Wellman and Otto would complete a deserving top five.
The next Crown Jewel race is scheduled for the end of March, the much anticipated 1987 Winston 500 at Talladega. No restrictor plates, negligible downforce and no damn brakes... it's going to be another one to remember.
