Gen6 Series Recap:

On Monday night the Lightning Rounds commenced Season 4 with the Gen6 Legacy cars at Chicagoland Speedway. Andrew Dyson took out Pole Position alongside Ashley Dodgson.  

Dyson led the field to the green but Dodgson sent it on the high side off turn 2 to grab the lead in the opening lap. Ryan Jones made a race out of it on lap 7 taking the lead for a lap before a yellow fell on lap 9. Dodgson resumed the lead when the green flag waved again until Dyson got past on lap 18. The second caution of the night fell on lap 27 with an incident on the back stretch and the field all pitted for fresh tires. Dyson once again led the field to green until about the midway point when Christopher Ireland and Neil Pearson started to put on the pressure. 

Green flag pit stops started around lap 60 with Josh Michelmore staying out as one of the longest to lead a handful of laps before pitting on lap 67 handing the lead over to Shaun Doecke who pitted on lap 75 handing the lead back over to Dyson. Ireland started to catch Dyson lap by lap after pitting ever so slightly and with 20 laps to go was within a second from the lead. With 10 to go Dyson was back out to a 1.5 second lead and raced the final laps away to the finish line!
