2022 Round Trucks Results
Truck Series Recap:
Round 5 of the Affinity Constructions Truck Series took place at Atlanta Speedway where drivers would have to battle 115 laps around the old surface one last time. Hamish Gallagher set the fastest lap in qualifying with a 31.419s lap and lining up on the outside of row 1 was Jaiden Russell.
The start of the race took a while to get going with a quick yellow on lap 1 and a bit of a jumbled restart as some drivers lost traction getting up to speed, but from there it was smooth sailing for 110 laps.
Hamish Gallagher and Jaiden Russell had the pace in the early going with Edward Foster stalking not too far behind, but it was Luke Trahair gaining the most ground driving up through the field from a 21st starting position. by lap 30 Trahair was already up inside the top 10.
By mid race Ryan Jones was in the lead courtesy of a different pit strategy and a few laps later Foster drove into the lead while Trahair continued to close in, now in 2nd position.
The leaders started to pit around the lap 85 mark for a 30 lap run to the end, Foster resumed the lead once things cycled out after pit stops and then Trahair set his sights on the lead, gradually reeling Foster in lap by lap until taking the lead with one and a half laps to go and on home for the win!
