2022 Series 3 Round 4 Trucks Results
Truck Series Recap:
Monday night the Affinity Constructions Truck Series continued on at North Wilkesboro Speedway. A tidy field of 15 truckers lined the grid with Lachlan Urquijo taking the top spot in qualifying beating out Ruben Phelps who qualified in 2nd. The green flag flew and the field was away for a 130 lap race.
Urquijo ran away with the lead in the early stages but always in hot pursuit was Phelps who fought hard for the lead. Josh Michelmore and Jaiden Russell fought hard to get in the top 5 after qualifying outside and after 30 or so laps Danny G made his way into 2nd position before the nights first yellow flag waved when Noddy Tompkins spun on the back straight.
The field hit pit road under yellow with Urquijo remaining in the lead with the race off pit road. It wasn’t long before Russell made a move to the outside when the race resumed to take the lead as Urquijo faded back with some front end damage. 10 laps into the run the races 2nd and final yellow waved when Nathaniel Jackson went spinning on the front stretch.
Russell stayed out with Toby Stent while the rest of the field pitted for tires, led by Danny G down pit road. When the race resumed it didn’t take long for the 4 fresh tires to do their work as Danny G pulled into the lead while Russell fell backwards. From there Danny G was able to lead the remaining half of the race, pulling out a 5.8 second lead when the checkered flag waved.
