2022 Series 3 Round 5 Trucks Results
Truck Series Recap:
Monday night the Affinity Constructions Truck Series kicked off round 5 at Kansas Speedway. A good field of 27 drivers showed up to race led by Jaiden Russell who took the Pole over Jason Martin in 2nd.
The green flagged waved and the field roared off, contested pretty hotly in the early going for the lead with 3 wide racing. Danny G and Edward Foster made some slight contact on lap 6 which put Jaiden Russell into the wall in turn 3, ending his hopes for the night. The first caution came out on lap 17 which saw the field hit pit road as Simon Hettersheid came off with the lead after taking 2 tires. Foster grabbed the lead shortly off the restart as Danny G moved up into 2nd before the nights 2nd caution as the two battled for the lead taking turns at the line.
Danny G would now hold the lead on the next restart and led from there before the next yellow flag slowed things down for an accident on pit road entry. This time down pit road, Steven Williams and Hettersheid again would take on two tires and lead the race off pit lane and the field to green. The 4 tires of Danny G prevailed however as he quickly raced back to the front and from there, albeit a late caution and restart to deal with, was able to run away with the race, two weeks in a row!
